A vintage 1935 W.R. Midwinter Ltd. Red Windsor Pattern (floral) 10” Dinner Plate. Made in England.
We do not know the exact date of manufacture for this item, but based on research, we believe this was made before (or just after) the start of WWII. Because Midwonter's production of consumer goods dropped very considerably during the war,
we
are
guessing
sometime around 1935. If you have any better information on this piece, please let us know and we'll update this post as appropriate. After WWII, the company's patterns were updated and throughout the 1950 and 60s, their designs were considered the ultimate "modern" dinner / kitchen ware.
Condition
is Good, Used. There are no chips, breaks, scratches, wear, or color fading in this piece. There is one crack in the plate that is approximately 2 inches long. Also there is severe crazing in the glazing throughout the entire piece. See the last 2 photos included in this post for a view of these issues.
